    Following Video 1 devoted to the innovations adopted by Cavaillé-Coll in the wind system and their musical repercussions, this second document describes the new mechanisms introduced by the maker in his instruments. The result is better ergonomics and musical possibilities that now put the organ at the height of the symphonic aesthetics of its time.

    To the schematic and visual explanations of the mechanisms are added several musical demonstrations drawn from the repertoire, showing among other things what distinguishes the French organ from its foreign contemporaries…
